This seesion was again primarily used as a catch up session, because of the period of time we hadn't had a lesson with the teacher for.
The second half of the lesson we started creating our solo motifs for the assessment. To begin with we started putting toghether simple motifs we had learnt in previous sessions to make a much larger motif. We started with the balance exercise, which we combined with the coupe exercise. This worked really well as it was a combination of Grand Allegro and Petit Allegro. As one is small quick movements whereas the other is focused upon travelling.
Next we focused upon what the different genders of the class would do. As male and female dancers don't perform the same moves. So for example I am performing a much lower arabesuqe, whilst fonduing my leg, whereas the girls are going up on a relleve whilst doing the arabesque. I kept loosing my balance, so my teacher advised me to focus upon my corasbility much more in this section, to make a much stronger position. This worked well, and the correction had helpled a lot.
After this we used chance choreography, in the past this hadn't helped my piece, the best I wanted it to, so I was aprehensive about doing it, as in my previous attempt, the vairation of heights was too great, and it went high-low-high-low in a small space of time. We chose six different positions, we I chose to challange myself, rather than playing it safe. With these six positions we developed the movements from each position to make a motif.
